10 Rules To Build A Wildly Successful Business
Loes Knetsch ©
I am doing quite a lot of searching on Google and YouTube, and I found this great down to earth video from a guy called Evan Carmicheal, here is his channel, about Top 10 rules to build a wildly successful business. I must admit, I am not yet wildly successful but I am on the right track and I recognized a lot of my actions in this video. So I am going to share it with you, together with my own story. But first……..;)
If only it was that simple 🙂
Just downloading your wildly successful business! Awesome! But unfortunately, to build a successful business is not that simple, otherwise, everybody would do it, and when you look around you, most of your family and friends are working class. 9-5 workers for a boss. So put it out of your head that creating a successful business is a piece of cake. It just is not. You need to put in a lot of hours to get this to work for you, but when it is starting to work for you, you will be the proudest entrepreneur you can think of! YOU DID IT!
Well, let’s go down the rules of Evan.
10 Rules To Build A Wildly Successful Business
#1 Change The Environment
What the heck, do I have to move? Literally? I did. I had a dead-end relationship and a shitty job, well not all shitty but most of it. And I could get a job to run a daycare for children 25 miles away, so I moved out. Out of my relationship, out of my job and out of my house. And it was the best change ever made in my life. I got more time to create, to grow and to start working on my own online business. You don’t have to change that radically but you do have to take a close look at your life right now. What or who is holding you back? What or who is keeping you from growing?
#2 Add More Value
What value do you offer to your customers? When you start an online or offline business and want to make money from it, you need a valuable product you can put on the market. Do not compete on pricing, add more value is the clear message of Evan. Sell a quality product! The product I sell is obvious and is of excellent quality. When you surf around this website you will notice for sure that I promote the Wealthy Affiliate University. The no #1 course worldwide for becoming an expert in affiliate marketing. Just promoting is not enough, you have to love your product to be able to sell it. As a member of this community of enthusiastic students from 12-90 years of age, I do add more value to the existing course, almost on a weekly base. You can take a peek on my blogs & training list. I wrote all these blogs & training for the benefit of the WA community. But…. back to business. When your product is not selling, get a better one!
#3 Find Your Word
This is a tricky one, find your word. Which word is in your life as a red thread? Make a list of everything you like.
At 4.12 minutes Evan explains what is meant by “Find your Word”
INDEPENDENT
I love to be independent and I truly love to help people become independent. I really don’t like anybody to tell me what to do and how to do it. When or what to eat and when to sleep. My whole life has been a struggle to become independent. LUCTOR ET EMERGO – I struggle and emerge.
#4 Be unique
I have a proverb in my bedroom written by the famous text writer “Loesje” from origin Dutch, I was called Loesje in my youth, nowadays it’s just Loes without the “je”. (The “je” means little). Here is the original Dutch version.

Be yourself, there are already so many others
The bottom line is, you need to be you. Don’t try to copy anybody. You can learn from them, their strategies, for sure, but you’ve got to stay your own unique self! People will come to you for your personality. The product can be bought easily elsewhere, but they buy it from you, because of you.
#5 Follow Your Flow
Sound a bit woolly. But it just means: Take any opportunity and idea what comes up in your life seriously. Like this blog for instance. I didn’t plan to write this. It just came up in a random search, and I loved Evan’s attitude and talk towards a successful business and wanted to share this with you. Follow the flow.
#6 Expect To Suck
That’s one rule I can relay to. I started a dozen different undertakings. Entrepreneurship is in my blood. The best entrepreneur is the one who knows when to keep going and when to stop. When you are out there, on your own, trying to make things work, you can make very clumsy decisions too. Some will be fortunate there is someone to catch you when you fall, if you are not, you cry a little and start all over again. But a true entrepreneur will never quit!

I totally forgot about that rule as starting entrepreneur. When my first adventure didn’t work out the way I expected, I turned to courses and books. A little late I know now, I should have started with that. So, read books from people who are there where you want to be. Take courses written by people who can lead you to the same top they are. Partner up with successful companies. Learn the ropes! Be teachable!
#8 Have A Passion
Have passion is equal to take action, but do it with love, with enthusiasm, with pleasure. You can have so many ideas and plans inside your head, but when you are keeping them into your head, nothing is going to happen. Every successful person is out there! They have taken action. They got excited about something.
10 Years ago, I had an idea for a central heating shelf with movable stores and I wrote to a program on National TV, I was selected, and I came actually on TV! Together with a dozen other contesters. My idea didn’t make it. But a friend of me took me to a company which could make and market my central heating shelf. Unfortunately, the company went bankrupt. Still not ready to quit I wrote a letter to IKEA, but they said they had their own developers. End of story. Now I dust the shelf once in a while. It is in my hallway. I didn’t quit, I just knew when to stop. Don’t quite, start over!

It’s now 2.18 AM, still writing. Because I have a passion for creating websites. And for telling you about how good it feels you can rule your own time 🙂
#9 Impact People
When you create something, you can actually have an impact on people, on the environment, and in this world! You can write your opinion. You can promote sustainable products. You can change the world for the better. For your and my children and grandchildren. But again, to have that impact you need to stand up and take action!
#10 BELIEVE
This is the most important rule. BELIEVE! Believe in your product. Believe in yourself. You can do it!
When you don’t believe you can accomplish your dream, you are not going to make it!
You need to believe you can write that book, create that website, sell that product. Whatever you want, you need to BELIEVE! The “Yes I can” believe!
