Have you been scammed?

Quite a lot of people are searching the internet to find their luck, and quite a lot of people are eagerly telling you how you can become a millionaire over night by just following their example. When it was that easy, plenty of us would have made it by now.
I wrote this page “I think I have been scammed”, to collect scam stories, tips and to warn people for scam practises.

What do they tell you?

  • There is limited access, act now!
  • They offer you a job.
  • Their own earnings
  • Talk as if you’ve won the lottery
  • They have the SECRET
  • You don’t have to do anything, the program does the work

What do they ask you?

  • A deposit
  • Money to join
  • To download software
  • They ask for personal information
  • A fee without any visible value you get for it

What do they show you?

I think I have been scammed

Lots of $$$

  • Glittery banners
  • Videos with cars/mansions and beaches
  • Money, lots of $$$
  • Cheques and bank account deposits

What do they send you?

I think I have been scammed

When there are more things suggested in the scam alerts, I will add them to the list above.

In my desire to start with an online business I came across the opportunity at the Net Success Lab.

They promise to deliver you turn-key websites and templates – 20 to start (and more on a monthly basis) that you can simply take and use to make money. In reality, they build you quick and cheap websites that will seldom make it in the competitive online world. You also get a few instructions which is a helpful but just not sufficient to get you proficient.

As you enter the programme, there are more sign-on's and money required for various software. Some of these such as Aweber are excellent products but it is more costs after initially being told you were signing on for free.
The cost is $19 per month plus other add-ins.

You are then subjected to a number of daily emails about various other opportunities - make $$$ easily etc.

I gave Net Success Lab a go and found the following:

1. The website was very lightweight
2. The support was virtually non-existent
3. I was spammed everyday with more 'unbelievable' opportunities to make more money - by spending mine
4. I was very unsure as to who I was now with and who to contact

Net Success Lab is in my opinion a scam and really does not deliver the necessary structure and training to be successful long-term.

It is a trading with what they call Sir Roger's Binary Meta Bot. The bot will do the trading automatically for you. First you have to fill in a form with your personal information and for the first trading you have to deposit $250. You are given 5 minutes time to make a decision whether you want to join the club or not, otherwise no more position available for you. Is there a guarentee that you will win? I doubt it. Should you deposit more money for every time the bot do a new trading? I guess so. I decided not to join the club because I cannot find any good reviews about the club from people other than in their websites.

As I invested $200 with a broker and recieved free signals that were supposed to be 74% accurate. I made some mistakes and can't blame the signals for all my losses, but the signals were not right when I tried to recoup my losses. Overall I had a 46% win record. The broker I was with took everything on a loss and I got 85% on a win.As I hoped I could develope a system so I could profit, That didn't happen and the potential profit did not seem to be worth the time spent. During the time I was researching binary options I was by the fast money no work needed crowd.I did spend $5 on one offer and then decided against it. The following month they took $77 out of my account. I protested and they agreed to a refund. Some names that offered big money and no work and offered down loads and also gave pictures of exotic cars, yachts, and places were,..Auto trading binary, confirmed profits, profit replicators. Some names associated were Dan Sanders and Simon Saunders. anonymous (feel free to edit or use what you want)

Google Sniper in 2011 was my first experience with, shall we say, "not quite kosher product". George Brown was misleading, if not outright lying about what his product and system can or cannot do. Unfortunately, took me 6 months to figure out that I was had, as we say here in the U.S. With a couple of upsells necessary to make the crap work, as George claimed, it cost me about $500. Google Sniper is a scam.
I am ashamed to admit that I fell for the worst Internet scam ever. Empower Network by the famous, and as I know now, infamous Dave Wood & Dave Sharpe. Both need to be behind bars for a very long time. They ruined the lives of many folks. I was a member for 6 months and lost over $1,600 trying to sell a dream to other folks. The pressure "to go-all-in" was immense and many gullible people spent between $12000 and $15000, among them retired couples that were robbed of half their retirement money.
Last year I joined knowingly and willingly an obvious scam only for the reason to be able to write a review with total insider knowledge. I became a Binary Option Trader, aware of the fact that I will not make any profit. Of course, the magic software, supposedly able to predict the fluctuations of the derivative market, is totally worthless and people without experience in this kind of trading have no chance to profit whatsoever. I set myself a time limit and also a limit of how many trades to execute. The people promoting these scams claim the trading signals are correct over 90% all the time. In reality, the signals are wrong over 75%, and flipping a coin, playing a slot machine or roulette in a casino provide better odds.

I got a team of 3 but somewhere so they never came to appeal in my line. later I was so smart that I was bought a course for a $ before a week had passed, I had lost the next $ 1,000 on some very dubious info products. I have met some people in the social media which hold webinar and they were actually really good, some of them so when they started with Empover network so I followed. I think that it would cost me 2-3 thousand before I said stop. I have never earned some of my money back there at all. I have learned from it. But now I have got a completely different view of it to create income online

Google Sniper by George Brown. I first bought Google Sniper years ago when it was v1. It was all about creating lots of thin affiliate sites with not much content on them. I didn't see much success from the sites I set up. Even several years ago, it was an outdated technique because Google loves sites with lots of genuine content that are frequently updated, not small sites like the ones George is showing people to create. In order to make anything like a good amount of money, you would have to set up so many of these little sites that you would probably spend quite a lot on domain names. But Google doesn't want to see tiny sites like these anyway.

These days, Google Sniper is on v3, and people who have seen it say that it is mostly the same as the first version. I don't see how George can make a lot of money with little sites like this, and yet his google Sniper sales page shows him displaying his huge earnings. I am almost certain that these huge earnings come not from his own Google Sniper methods but from selling his Google Sniper guide, especially when you consider that he has several upsells to squeeze extra money out of gullible people. Yes, George is rich, but you probably won't get rich from using his Google Sniper guide.

I mean really. If someone came up to you on the street and said, Hey buddy, come in to my store. I can show you how to open a store just like mine and make lots of money. You only have to open the store a couple hours a week and the money will roll. I cannot tell you right now how it works but I will after you pay me.

Sorry to see you had some negative runs into with scammy companies. In no way heard of Jeunesse or MLSP, but Empowr Network features a negative reputation. I must set a review about that one as well, to warn off individuals to step into their trap.

Among the best things from Wealthy Affiliate marketer is the transparency organisation. You understand exactly what there is offered to have a free account and what the expenses and benefits are for your premium membership when you want to consider your business to a higher level.

And also the opportunity to earn your first bucks during your study period is merely awesome.
See you on the other side Sawzag

Hi Pablo, it looks like you are getting rich quickly with Empowr, because the counter is getting high fast, and you see within a few days the dollars grow into hundreds. But after 3 months you have to pay your platform fee, which is HUGE! and then you have been active every day, and are left with no money in cash

  2. Pablo Hunt says:

Agree with you about have more scam out there. .Product, Services is all a scam. want to find trully product is very hard.

    • Loes says:

Good day to you Pablo, nice of you to take the time to place a reply on my website, I understand you have found your wealth in Vid Reaper. I know there are more programs online which can help you create an additional, even an full time income. Glad you found a scam free program too. We are both helping people to avoid scam online, you with the Vid Reaper program, I with the Wealthy Affiliate program. I am sorry for you, but I do not allow links into my comment to strange websites, so I have deleted them. I wish you much success with your online endeavor. Kind regards, Loes

A great and helpful article to avoid scams online. I’ve personally wasted my money few times online but ofcourse they were not that big of a sum so nothing that I couldn’t recover fast! Good that you put this article out there so people can avoid getting scammed and save a dollar or two or sometimes even hundreds! Thanks a lot

    • Loes says:

Thanks Nguyen, I hope to reach people before they will have unnecessary spendings online, and when they accidentally got scammed, what to do next. See you later:) Loes

I think almost every adult can say this, unfortunately at least once, so many of us know what it feels like. It’s awful!

So I applaud you for putting this post out there for those who don’t know what to do.

It’s so important to keep records and to contact the right authoroties in a reasonable timeframe, so I’m sure your post will be helpful to many.

    • Loes says:

Hi Debra, unfortunately there always will be people falling for smart talking scammers, also offline you have to be careful. There was a company active, who where spreading rat poop around houses, after spreading the rang the bell, and showed the people the poop, and told them they had a terrific sollution for it as wel, and miraculous today for the saleprice of only $99 ! I can imagine there was only some chemicals in the bottle which you buy for $0.99 in the store on the corner.
      So stay always careful:)! Loes

  5. Dave Sweney says:

Hmmmmm…Yes so many scams out there…hen I started my online marketing journey, I ran through three prior to finding a great site I see you also review here called Wealthy Affiliate (definitely NOT a scam)…

First it was an MLM company called Jeunesse, which was a more traditional pyramid scheme (my perspective after about three weeks) and they got me into the online angle of marketing, because I was not going to have my friends and family rolling thrir eyes and running away as I tried to sign them up for something they didn’t need…This cost me about $ 550USD…

Second was MLSP, a supposed education program that really is a glorifed scheme as well in my opinion. They push you to subscribe to their products at a monthly fee, and then you can sell them on to other (suckers)….The training was outdated, the service was bad, and the owners and suppised gurus were not good or active..Cost: I got off fairly cheap, maybe $250 USD…

Third was Empower, and even worse program that MLSP from what I could see. The upsells they wanted you to buy or pay a monthly fee for were pretty much worthless in my mind…Cost: $200 USD…

The other thing the last two sites did was receommend tools for setting up your online marketing program that were outdated, did not work or just were overpriced! Cost to me: $500 USD…

I was frustrated as you might imagine, floundering and wondering if I should return to the strictly bricks and mortar business I know well, when I found the Wealythy Affiliate site (Breath of fresh air)!

I will stick with Wealthy Affiliate because it offers MORE value even than what they advertise. I hope all would be online marketers see this page and reviews of the many scams out there and saves themselves lots of time, money and heartache!

    • Loes says:

  6. Gary says:

Almost every “opportunity” I’ve seen advertised, starting back in the day when the only way to advertise was the classified section in a magazine or newspaper, all have the same characteristic : They are what used to work but doesn’t work any more. That is why they are selling the system. If it still worked they would be working that system not selling it.

Finding a system that does work, today, and is forward looking in it’s approach so that it will still work tomorrow, is rare. There are very few of those out there. Maybe only one.

    • Loes says:

Hi Gary, nice to see you here, yes you are right, and a lot of opportunities have been started up with honest intentions too, but somehow they have gotten out of control, and the promisses are not having the values anymore as where they are being advertised for. So they turn into a scam.

      Thanks for your comment, Loes

  7. Saber says:

    Hi Loes,
Thanks for your great tips about scams on the internet. There are really too many scammers out there trying to find their next victim and internet surfers should be warned. Not long ago, I came across a scam site which claimed that they can offer $6 dollars for one advertisement click. Luckily I was not scammed to waste my time on that website.

    • Loes says:

Hi Saber, thos scammers are really smart and devious, luckily you where smarter then them, only the lottery can make you rich over night, and we all know what the chances are there:) Loes

Hi Jesse, glad to hear you where not scammed for much. I truly hope to help a lot of people with these warning tips. It is most certain, only the advertizer of the “get rich quick ad” is the one who does get rich quick, not you 🙁 Loes

  9. Ruth says:

    Hello,
Thank you for providing the list of things to watch out for when searching for online money making. I have gone to countless sites that offer exactly what you have listed. They are all too common and people need to understand that, like any job, making money will take start up time, motivation and knowledge. Unfortunately the temptation to sign up for the get rich quick schemes is strong and I know I have made that mistake before. I know that even after failing on a program with the above promises, I have still fallen for it again and again.
This is a great bit of information for people to understand the language and methods these scammers use to entice you!
    Thanks!

    • Loes says:

Hi Ruth, I do think that the combination of a lack of knowledge ánd a lack of money the most dangerous one is people can have to fall for an offer they can’t refuse. I surely hope to prevent people to be scammed by this post. Greetings Loes

  10. Jyl says:

Thankfully I’ve never been scammed, but I’ve definitely been (at least temporarily) taken in by some of the fancy wording and images that a lot of these websites show. Wads of cash and shiny sports cars and a promise that “I will show you how all this can be yours!!” Then I think, hang on…. if it’s that easy why isn’t everyone doing it?
On the other hand, I’ve read your review on Wealthy Affiliate and that is definitely more my kind of thing. Lessons on how to set up, help and support along the way, so much positive feedback (all over the internet) and a free trial to start off before any commitment. It’s perfect!!

    • Loes says:

Hello Jyl, that’s right, when it would be so easy, why aren’t there much more people gaining a lot of money? The only one who’s getting rich is the slithery salesman, thank you for surfing around my website, Wealthy Affiliate is an online education resource where you can learn the ropes you need to become successful on the internet. It’s not some gamble, it’s getting the Know-How. Loes
