What is the best laptop for me? — 4 Comments

  1. I never knew so much detail went into choosing a laptop. The last one I used would get so hot, sometimes it will not come on and I knew it was time for a new one. The new laptop I got is a HP. I don’t even know if it is good for watching or making movies. Or if it is good for photos. I’m in the food niche, should I get an apple laptop?

    • HP is a very solid brand, Juliet, they have great laptops. Before you buy an Apple, they one out at a friends place if you have the chance. Apple laptops cost twice as much as an HP. And when you are used to Windows, you can become very unhappy with Linux. If you don’t know your HP is good for watching movies you probably do not use that often:)

  2. I’ve been looking into purchasing a laptop recently but I must admit – I’m getting a little confused about what sort of processors I need for the tasks I am going to be taking on.

I enjoy film editing and audio engineering so I’m looking at something that could handle Sony Vegas and Ableton Live. Now, will the cheaper Celeron processors be enough to handle these programs or will I have to be looking for a laptop with a Pentium model processor?

    • The best computer for this would be a Mac, but these are very expensive, e.g. the MacBook Pro would qualify, with an 8th-generation Intel Core processor, we are talking about $2000+. When you would go for an Asus gaming computer, e.g. the GL503 delivers awesome sound and visuals. This one has an 8th Gen Intel Core quad-core processor and the pricing is around the $1000. In the same price category is the Acer Aspire VX 15, it has a Quad-core 2.5GHz Intel Core processor.

When you are on a budget, you might want to look at the Lenovo17.3-inch HD, Intel Core i5-6200U Processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD with a price around the $600.

Success finding the best laptop for you.
